Sketchbook Project

I’m taking part in the Sketchbook Project organised by the Brooklyn Art Library.

I’ve been plotting and planning what I will include in my sketchbook. In recent times, I’ve been investigating circles, drawing as a meditative practice and making daily. I’ve decided to follow on with these interests in my sketchbook. I’ll also be drawing upon my longer term interests in spiritual traditions and the years of experimentation that I’ve undertaken with pigment ink pens.

Anyone can participate in the Sketchbook Project – find out more about how to join in here

Lyn says:  “I have always been a doodler so chose to do it 5-10 minutes at a time and just let it grow. A bit about me – I’ve taught painting and drawing for 25 years in schools, training organisations, retirement centres and my own studio. I also dabbled in mosaics, textile and any craft that I became curious about. In 2006 I became really interested in ceramics and after going back to uni for 4 years, making and designing ceramics is all I do. My biz is ‘the studio handmade’.”

Drawing by Mel

Mel Young says about this drawing: This might be water but it could be the blur of the land from a moving vehicle – which is where I made the drawing on the bus from Sydney to Canberra, letting the movement of the bus dictate the line. I always wanted to do a drawing like this.
